Back up and Running!!

I'M FREE!!! Well, from my boot anyway!! I went to the doctor last week and he took me out of my boot for my fractured ankle!! Which means I can drive, walk and work again!! You have no idea how great it was to drive again....I spent the my first afternoon hitting all the places I love, Target, Joann's, Chillies, and Hobby Lobby, just to name a few!! It was amazing!!!

My first crafty project was a baby paint can for one of my dear friends that lives on the other side of the country. The fun/hard part about being in the military is I have friends everywhere....I wish I could be there as she is now expecting number 2 this summer and I'm so happy for her!! Number 2 is going to be a boy....the room colors are blue and brown with airplanes (our hubbys are F-18 pilots what did you expect??). So I wanted to send her something really cute besides just baby clothes!

I remembered I had a silver paint can in my stash, and I thought, how cute, and reusable!! So out came the DS, New Arrivals Cart, and my Vinyl!!

I used the DS to change the size of the airplane on the New Arrivals cart to better fit the paint can. I also set it up so that I could cut all the layers at the same time! That is one of the things I love the most when I use my DS!!

So after I did this I knew it needed a little more....so I used the circles that where left in the blue (from cutting out the windows in the airplane) a long with my swirl punch to cut out polka dots and swirls in the scrap vinyl white, blue, and brown!!

Once it was all put together I filled it with lots of cute baby boy stuff!! I think I'm going to go back and put the baby name on the top of the can just to finish it off!!

Hope you love it as much as I do!!

My Super Hero

Well I know it's been a while, but this stupid broken ankle has me down! It takes so long to do anything in the house. This will hopefully be the last week in the walking boot, I go back to the doctor on Monday! Oh, how I can't wait to drive again!! On top of that the hubs has been working 12 hour days so he hasn't been able to help me as much as I would like :-(

So as a get well gift to my self (wink) I ordered two new cricut carts!! I was so excited when they came in the mail last night....(late, because I can't walk to the mail box I have to wait for the hubs to come home and check it). I got 3 birds on parade (SOOOO Cute!!) and New Arrival (it seems like all my friends are getting ready to pop).

This afternoon I worked with the 3 birds on parade. I made a birthday card for my grandad. So much of my stuff is girly so it's hard for me to come up with good masculine stuff. This one turned out pretty cute. The whole thing was made out of scraps which is good, because my scrap bucket is running over!!

I cut my super hero bird at 3", which actually turned out bigger than the card I had....note for next time. I used my sizzix texture maker with the cuttlebug swissdots plates for the yellow background and did a "stitch" doodle around the boarder. The bird is attached with pop dots so it's off the page.

Hope your all having a great week!!

Valentines Day Frog

Can you believe it's only a week till Valentine's Day?? I've got most of mine done, with 3 boxes going out in the mail tomorrow!! My sweet niece loves when I make her cards. My sister-in-law says she saves all of them :-) Melts your heart, right?? So you know when it was time to make her Valentine's Day card she got one that went the extra mile!!

I made this from create-a-critter. I cut the frog at 3 1/2, then mounted it on Kraft stock. I outlined the craft stock in white "stitches" and used one of my clear stamps for the Happy Valentine's Day embossed in white. The little 3-D heart is from Micheal's. It's super cute! I hope she loves it as much as I do....it's nice when an idea comes together!!

A few other exciting things. One Peachy Keen had their stamps on sale 25% off in honor of the pack winning the super bowl!! What a great deal. I can't wait for that box to come in. I also received my first custom order from my Etsy shop today. I'm really excited about that too!! I'm still out of commission as far as walking/driving because of my ankle, so this was the perfect time for this project to come my way.

When one door closes, another one opens, right??

Hope your having a great week!

A few new projects!

Well it's been an interesting 2 weeks. About 24 hours after my husband left for a training mission, I fell at work and broke my ankle :-( It's my right ankle so I can't drive and of course we have a two story house....it's been interesting to say the least. The only good thing about not being able to work and walk is that I have been spending time in my craft hole!! I've done some cleaning, card making and working on my scrapbook.

I ordered my first ever 2 sets of my pink stamper stamps!! Thankfully they came right before the injury so I've had them to play with!! They are so inspiring!! My grandad has been in the hospital so I used create a critter to make the Get Whale soon card...which I love. I used my pink stamper stamps and my sizzix texture boutique to swirl the whale. I love it!!

Then I made this Bee Mine card for valentines day. The Bee is from the Paisley cart, so cute...I'm falling in love with this cart. The stamp is a Heidi Grace that I got last year from Joanns. I think this one turned out pretty cute too!

The last one was inspired from my new sizzix texture plate that I got at Michaels. After I textured the paper I cut the heart from Home Accent Essentials. Who knew?? There are hearts on like all the carts....so take a look to see if you can find one.....

Hope you all have a great week!

New Vinyl Project

So I've been working on valentines day in the "craft whole". I stopped for a little while to work on this super cute vinyl project. One of my super sweet Navy Wife Friends is coming in town in a couple weeks so I thought this would be fun for her. As a military wife you are constantly making and taking something somewhere....and this way she will always be able to find her tray!!

I got the tray from hobby lobby (not new to me, but new to this area!!). It's was less than $3.00 over in the party section. I used my DS to get the sizing that I wanted on the D (opposites attract) and the anchor (stand and salute). After a test run on scrap paper I loaded up the vinyl. I get all my vinyl from craft vinyl.com. The color choices are AMAZING and they have great prices and customer service!!

After the vinyl pieces cut. I put the anchor on first. Then layered the D over the top of the anchor. I think it turned out pretty cute and I hope that she gets lots of use out of it. If you haven't tried vinyl yet....no excuse!! It's so much fun!!

More $9.99 Carts

So I had seen on a couple blogs that people had taken their Micheals ads to Wal-Mart and they price matched the Cricut Lite Carts. I thought that sounded like a good idea....but I don't know about your Wal-Mart but the ONE that we have in our town is a mad house and I avoid it at all costs.

Well one evening after work I was feeling brave and decided to stop in and give it a try. I went back to the craft area and picked up 4 of the lite carts that I wanted then headed up to customer service. After waiting in line 5-6 people deep it was my turn. I got my ad out and asked for the price match....they had to call a manger....but in the end...SUCCESS!!!

I got the four legged friends because it has a hamster on it and my mom loves hamsters, so I'm hoping to do some stuff for her. I've already used lacy labels and Celebrate with Flourish for Valentines day stuff.

Joanns started their Winter Warmup sale today. Paper is 5 for .95 and all their paper goods are 40% off so I'll probably head out their tomorrow. I'm gearing up now for the hubbs to go on a training mission for the next 2 weeks or so. I see lots of chick flicks and crafting in my future!!

Have a great week!
