Sweet Treats

So I stole and modified this idea from the Halloween Taste of Home Magazine. Their cover showed these really cute rice krispy treat pumpkin pops.....Mine turned out a little different, but were eaten just as quick.

The original picture had these babies on sticks...which was the goal when I started. But after I made them and poped the stick in the weight of the rice krispys made them slide down the stick and start to break apart....not so cute. So I re-molded them and put them in a tray, they looked like a pumpkin patch.

As far as decorating them...again some modification based on what I could find. I used Tootsie rolls cut in half as the stems, they too where a bit heavy and I had to cram them in the pumpkins to make them stay. They used airheads to do their steams...all I could find was a huge pack, that was mixed colors, for more than I wanted to spend for 3 packs of green candy. So I got Giant Lifesaver Gummies and cut them in 4th and "glued" them in with a little orange frosting.

I highly recommend these. They are pretty easy, and super tasty. I great spin on a classic treat! Halloween is on Sunday and I'm super excited. I have a pretty spooky menu planned, so check back to see how that goes :-) have a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloween Projects

Well Halloween is fast approaching, so I've been busy working on all kinds of tricks and treats :-) I borrowed this idea from ScrapGuy. I got 2 of the Halloween buckets from Michaels this weekend, and a roll of Cricut black vinyl.

Then using my Pumpkin Carving Cart at 4" I made these two faces, one for each of the buckets.

I then used Plantin SchoolBook at 4" to put each of the boys names on the back. I'm going to fill them with candy and other treats. It may be too much for my 29 year old hubby and his friend....but they humor me....plus it has candy in it right??

Hope you guys are gearing up for a great Halloween yourself!!

Love and cuts!

My New Blog

Welcome to my new Crafty Blog. I have been so inspired by all the cricut, scrapbooking, and crafting blogs out there, I wanted to show off my own projects...all in the hopes that I can inspire someone else to make something amazing or try something different.

For my first post I have 3 of my most recent cards. Theses were all made with the Mini Monsters Cartridges. I was so excited when they came in the mail, I got them after work and stayed up WAY too late playing with it. I'm really into googly eyes right now...so this cart was perfect for that :-) I hope you enjoy!!

Don't for get to become a follower of my Blog so you are first to know of all my updates! If you see something you love...leave a comment....I want to know what you think :-)
